Masao Morinaga
Family Lawyer, Associate
I am a family lawyer with 15 years of diverse experience spanning civil and estate litigation, judicial reviews, tax appeals, and business consultations. This broad commercial and litigation background gives me a distinct advantage when navigating complex family cases that intersect across various areas of the law.
The old saying goes, "When all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail." When family disputes arise, it is easy for clients and opposing parties to view every issue as a legal problem to be fixed through litigation. My job as your lawyer is to hit those legal nails diligently and decisively. But being a true legal advisor also means helping you lay a solid legal foundation efficiently, so you can start rebuilding your life and pursue more enjoyable things.
Before obtaining a J.D. from the University of British Columbia, I graduated from Simon Fraser University with First Class Honours in English and a minor in counselling and human development. I considered becoming a teacher at one point, and as a lawyer, I have been able to scratch that itch by delivering family law seminars at the Japanese consulate and for support programs for new Canadians.
