Haadia Khalid
Family Lawyer, Associate
I am a dedicated family lawyer. My clients often describe me as approachable, friendly and compassionate, with a good sense of humour. Prior to joining England & Lam Family Law, I worked at a small boutique family firm where I represented clients in legal aid matters ranging from parenting time, protection concerns, child and spousal support (including variations), and inter-jurisdictional parenting matters.
I completed law school at Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC. During my time at law school, I was named the winner of the 2021 Peter Burns Mock Trial Competition, and I received the David Roberts Prize in Legal Writing in 2021.
I take a rational, level-headed approach to my legal practice: I focus on identifying what my clients truly want, explain the likely outcome considering the law, following this, I will work with the client to determine the best path forward. While I always strongly encourage my clients to resolve matters out-of-court where possible, I do not shy away from taking matters to court if necessary and am comfortable pushing back against unreasonable positions. I have represented clients in both Provincial and Supreme Court. I take a very thorough and meticulous approach to advocacy.
Outside of work, I like to play guitar, go on solo trips, and read up on international politics.
